Summary

The AES meeting had a great turnout! Kyra opened up the meeting with upcoming AES events; Game Creek is hosting an event to talk about the internship opportunities for the students and Internet Money. The intros opened with "What is your favorite childhood video game?" And answers varied from "God of War 3", "Minecraft", and "Jak and Daxter." This segwayed into the routine of Kyra explaining what AES is and the benefits of being a member. The Mix Tip of the Week was in the direction of post-production. Cinema Sound explained the importance of mixing dialogue in movies and TV shows. They showcased the Search and Destroy method with an EQ to get rid of frequencies you do not want in dialogue starting from 100 Hertz to 5,000 Hertz. Zo's Plugin of the Week was on the creative side. Freakshow Industries have freakishly modulated plugins that add texture and a daunting sound to any piece of audio you apply it to. The plug-in MISHBY is an audio plug-in that is notorious for its reversal effect. AES members also created two new subgroups for students to participate in. One of them was a jam session sub-group. This allows students to let loose and enjoy playing music with other students. The other focuses more on the guitar and bass end of the spectrum, diving into pedal boards, gear, and ways to improve at guitar. The meeting ended with Kyra encouraging students to network and meet someone new!
