For the mix tip of the week, we watched a video about a split EQ teqnique. Previously, a mix tip of the week was about the "vocal presence bump" you co do with 2 EQs. You put 1 EQ on the instrumental and attenuate at a certain higher frequency range, you then boost the same frequencies on the vocal to give it extra presence. The add-on for that we learned today, was to take 2 different sets frequencies, and attenuate each set on only the left or right channel. This way, you won't be changing the overall mix of the vocal or instrumental as much as doing the same frequency for each channel. This technique can also add a neat little bit of stereo image to the vocal and mix.

For industry news; Ableton has release a new mobile app called Ableton Note app. It is $5.99, and is a stripped down, but designed for mobile version of Ableton with some unique features and workflows. We watched a video all about the useful features of the app.

Then we discussed Rhiannon Ward's Vocal lessons class, she has been professionally trained for 5 years and has 1 year teaching experience; prices are $25 for a half hour, and a full hour is $45.

Current AES Subgroups were briefly discussed, including Songwriting subgroup, Sound design subgroup and Synthesizer subgroup

We then played a Kahoot about miscellaneous CRAS info to end off the meeting.
