Summary

On Thursday, October 20, we met again to analyze the possibilities of holding the end-of-year event of the AES-TAMABA Student Section. After what was discussed in previous meetings, we ended up defining that our audio session will consist of 3 consecutive days between Monday, November 14 and Wednesday, November 16.
The first day will be held in workshop format. Students and teachers will get down to work and carry out different acoustic measurements and impulse response recordings with different techniques: detonations, with firecrackers, with balloons, with internal and external sweeping. With these collected samples, on day 2 we will analyze them to start a new investigation on the most important scenarios of the City of Buenos Aires. The second day will be highlighted by the presentation of the 3D Didactic Training Simulator for the Measurement of Transmission Losses by the student Nahuel Orellana and the teacher Indio Gauvron. In addition, all the participants of our section who have participated in the Student Recording Contest will have a space to present their projects and collectively listen to the recordings. And Professor Santiago Capisto will close this day with a Master class on amplifiers, operations and predictive compression. The prelude to the unmissable masterclasses will be given by the students Nahuel Orellana, Ariadna Trotta, Emanuel Zanoni and Lucas Sanguinetti, who will present the 2023 action plan, the projects and research that we began to carry out this year and that we hope to develop during the next year. To then give way to 3 unmissable talks by Ivo Markovic (Immersive Audio), Georginza Lizaso (Acoustics) and Cesar Lamschtein (Forensic Acoustics). In addition, we began to outline the action plan and the roadmap for new projects that include building new exchange spaces with the students of our section, forging new channels of communication in the rest of the Student Sections of Latin America, the development of a library and three investigations: one on immersive sound systems, another on acoustic measurements and another on audio plugins.
