Summary

1. Dragon initiated this seminar by introducing history of audio plugins, of ancient Digi Design SoundTools/ ProTools, as well as some early brand names of audio plugins, and how they are doing nowadays. He also mentioned some spectacular plugins that either out performs other products or consume computer resources with hunger.
2. Prof. Tsai from Feng Chia University gave us an interactive thought of audio plugins. From concept of guitar tones to the building block of such plugins. Especially with guitar overdrive pedal plugin.
Then he used Matlab emulation to demonstrate how different mathematical function can act as an overdrive to present new tones. He actually asked attendee to choose from a list of functions to see different guitar tones.
3. Neil from Master Tones talked about "How AI is Revolutionizing the Analog Emulation". First, he discussed traditional analog emulation methods and their problems. Added with AI and computer deep learning and it's challenge. Then he introduced their own Ariosa Technology and things about product deployment. They are now aiming at AI mixing/mastering and spatial audio.
4. This is the second time that we host a full day seminar, and we also put together two separate booths with gears to demonstrate plugins from both speakers, there are total of 40+ attendees, and we had a very successful and knowledgeable day.
