Multiple Grammy award-winning mastering engineer (and UML SRT Alum) Mark Donahue came to UML to give an all-day masterclass on the process of professionally recording a classical music ensemble. UML SRT students, faculty, and recent SRT graduates all participated in this event. The day started with setting up Concert Hall with several different types of microphones to capture the UML Wind Ensemble properly. After the recording, Mark discussed the different microphone techniques used, the business of recording classical music, and engaged in a highly educational Q&A session with students.
