We were honored to welcome Wes Dooley of Audio Engineering Associates to Indiana University. Wes began by sharing some of his past recording experiences, how he learned from those experiences, and how we can learn from them too. He continued to talk about mono mic recording, in conjunction with the mono mic recordings we have been doing in one of our classes this semester. Wes gave a presentation about Audio Engineering Associates, describing how they got started, the process they used for microphone/hardware development, and details about the various microphones and preamplifiers that they produce. He concluded by explaining to us how his "addiction for audio" has gotten him this far in the business, and how if we are "addicted to audio" and love what we do, we too can find careers for ourselves in the audio field.
