At this event Jamie Tagg, Professor at Indiana University and AES Faculty Advisor, invited our members to his personal recording studio in Bloomington, Indiana to show his progress on building a home studio. The studio was not complete, but offered a great view into what it takes to design a space for a studio.
During the discussion, Jamie showed our members how different insulation types can effect sound in a room, as well as how to manage standing waves and room modes through proper dimensions and floor types. His presentation included listening to audio samples in the space, as well as several photographs of the many stages of construction leading up to how it stands currently.
Our members thoroughly enjoyed seeing the insides of a professional grade studio, and look forward to returning once it is complete to learn more!
