Summary

The Webster University chapter of the AES kicked off the school year with an eventful September. On the 16th, we hosted a very special guest: Mark Hallman, the famed producer who has worked with artists such as Carole King and Ani DiFranco. Mr. Hallman gave a presentation to the students about getting a job in audio after graduation, and offered many helpful tips on this important subject. Following his presentation, we teamed up with Webster's film school to present a showing of the documentary about Mark Harman, The Shopkeeper. Another important event that occurred last month was our trip to Los Angeles to participate in the 141st AES Convention. Here, the student officers listened to some A-list audio professionals offer insights on the industry. We also practiced our networking skills by speaking with presenters and audio companies about participating in our Central Region Audio Student Summit this March. Coming in October, we'll be debuting our yearly Concert Series, and we'll be having a workshop for audio students to participate in later in the month.
