Summary

Tonight students had an opportunity to showcase their chops at sound design. In the
spirit of Halloween this weekend, students created their own monster sounds over the
last 2 weeks. We started off by playing each submission. Then we all had a chance to
break down our sessions, processing, and effects. From the flying Archaeopteryx to the
Murk Wench, it was really cool to see all the creativity that went into each monster.
Students recorded their own voices, water bottles, meat sounds, and even the super
loud pencil sharpener in the Resource Center at the Tempe Campus!! Phasers, pitch
shifters, reverse waveforms, and wave table synthesis were thrown into the mix, and
our live sound venue was transformed into an imaginary world of sound!!
