Summary

This year Mexico hosted the AES Latin America Conference; 3 full days (April 26 to 28) with a total of 7 conferences and 2 workshops, 120+ professionals and students (per conference and workshop) had the opportunity to listen and share experiences, tips and tricks within various specialties and areas within the audio.

It was an special one because we had the opportunity to have the AES President, Andres Mayo and the Elected AES President, John Krivit both participating with more that their presence but as part of our program presenting a conference within their area of expertise.

We had a great Latin program complemented by English speaking professionals:

Tweety Gonzalez-Argentina-Basic decisions and its importance within the production.
KC Porter-USA-The production myth.
Armando Avila-Mexico-Producing from Mexico for the world.
John Krivit-USA-Strategies and best practices to move from student to audio professional.
Mauricio Gargel-Brazil-Ambisonics.
Mario Santos & Memo Gil-Mexico-Today's vision for music production and good sound preservation.
Andres Landinez-Colombia-Recording from the mix.

As every year for the past 15+ years various sponsors support our efforts, AMTE, AVID, d&b audiotechnik (Hi Tech Audio), Genelec (Vari Internacional), Meyer Sound, Sennheiser, Shure (Rep de Audio) and the Tecnologico de Monterrey.

This year to close a great year we awarded the winners of the Recording Contest for Students in Latin America.
