El miércoles 26 de enero de 2014 se llevó a cabo en el auditorio Pablo VI de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana una conferencia dictada por Pears Plaskitt y Max Noach, importantes y prestigiosos ingenieros de la compañía Sound State Logic (SSL). La charla llevaba como nombre "La historia de SSL y el contexto análogo en el mundo digital", y tal como lo indica su nombre, giró en torno a dos grandes temas. A dicho evento asistieron alrededor de 40 personas, entre las cuales se destacan estudiantes y profesores.
Max Noach, director de SSL en América Latina, fue el encargado de dirigir la gran mayoría de la conferencia. El evento se dividió en dos partes, destinadas a tratar los temas de la charla. Se dio inicio hablando acerca de la historia de SSL, desde su fundación en 1969 en Oxfordshire, Inglaterra, pasando cronológicamente por cada uno de sus logros tecnológicos y comerciales en torno a las mesas de mezcla desarrolladas por la empresa hasta la actualidad. Además de precisar en aspectos técnicos de los productos y desarrollos de la compañía, Noach contó anécdotas y pequeñas historias que giran alrededor de las mesas de mezcla de SSL, queriendo resaltar el importante papel que juega el aspecto humano dentro de la compañía a la hora de innovar y diseñar.
Tras un corto receso, se inició la segunda parte de la conferencia en la cual se habló sobre el audio digital y análogo. Max Noach, tratando de ser breve en sus argumentos y análisis, concluyó que el producto sonoro alcanzado mediante el proceso analógico no podrá ser igualado por la tecnología digital, ya que tanto el proceso como el sonido que emana de lo analógico, goza de características y texturas que los procesamientos digitales no pueden lograr. Es importante aclarar, que en esta conversación, Noach basó la charla en gran medida según sus gustos y experiencia tanto personal como profesional.
Una vez que Maz Noach terminó su charla, Pears Plaskitt quiso tomar la palabra para dar a los estudiantes consejos sobre el oficio y profesión para que a futuro, como ingenieros de sonido, los apliquen a sus trabajos y a su día a día. También habló un poco sobre su experiencia al inicio de su vida laboral, lo cual caló bastante bien entre los participantes.
Al final del evento, tanto los asistentes como los oradores, se mostraron contentos y satisfechos con el desarrollo de la conferencia. Noach y Plaskitt continuaron hablando con algunos estudiantes interesados en conocerlos y compartir algunas palabras con ellos.

On Wednesday January 26, 2014 was held in the Paul VI auditorium at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana a lecture by Pears Plaskitt and Max Noach, important and prestigious engineers of the company Sound State Logic (SSL). Max Noach, director of SSL in Latin America, was in charge of directing the majority of the conference. The event was divided into two parts, in which the main issues of the talk were developed. He began talking about the history of SSL, since its founding in 1969 in Oxfordshire, England, until the present days, making a chronologically recall through each one of its technological and business achievements related to the mixing consoles developed by the company. In addition to specifying the technical aspects of the products and company developments, Noach told anecdotes and small stories that about SSL, trying to highlight the important role played by the human aspect within the company in the processes of innovation and design.
After a short break, the second part of the conference began, talking about its main topic: the digital and analog audio. Max Noach, trying to be brief in his arguments and analysis, concluded that the sound output achieved by analog process cannot be matched by digital technology, since both the process and the sound emanating from analog, has characteristics and textures that digital processing cannot achieve. It is important to clarify that in this conversation, Noach based the talk according to his personal point of view and his professional experience.
Once Max Noach finished his talk, Pears Plaskitt wanted to give the students some advices and tips about the career and profession so that in the future, as sound engineers, they could apply them to their work and their professional daily live. He also spoke about his personal experience at the beginning of his career, while he applied and searched for his first works. This stalled quite well among participants.
At the end of the event, both the attendees and the speakers were happy and satisfied with the development of the conference. Plaskitt and Noach continued talking with some students interested in sharing a few words with them.
