We talked about an optical microphone and discussed how it works, and why it is unique way of recording. One of our instructors here at the conservatory gave a presentation on the tube optical compressor, and shared with us his home made version of one. discussed vacuum tubes run on 2 voltages, the ?rst heats the tube up anywhere from 6 to 12 volts. The other voltage is the operating voltage of the tube which is form 100-200 volts. The price of the build for students to build their own tube optical compressor will cost 850 dollars for this build. Lastly we conversed, when the build will happen, and how long it will actually take to construct the tube optical compressor from scratch for each student.
