Summary

A recent seminar held at the Department of Electronics saw alumnus Clement Luciani give a guest lecture on working as an Acoustic Consultant. Clement graduated from the University of York with an MSc in Music Technology, continuing on to attain an MSc in Architectural Acoustics from the PierreandMarieCurie University, then progressing to secure a role as an Acoustic Consultant at RMP Acoustics Energy Vibration.
The well attended talk at the Audio Lab saw Clement give students a picture of what it's like to work in the field of acoustics; giving an impression of his typical projects and working day. The talk ended with a lengthy discussion between audience members and Clement, accompanied with an informal chat afterward.
Several students with a passion for acoustics expressed an interest in applying for internships at RMP Clement was able to provide them with an information pack and further details regarding their request. It is hoped that further talks run by the York AES can help students gain access to internships and jobs in industry.
