Kent Lau - a recent Penn State Acoustics graduate - led a presentation by National Instruments on their data-acquisition and FPGA technologies. During his presentation, Kent mentioned that he anticipates the development of new audio devices becoming the next big application for National Instrument's FPGA boards. To underscore this point, Kent showed a YouTube video of Vineet Aggarwal, an NI marketing engineer, using LabVIEW FPGA to record, effect, and loop his voice as he sang and beatboxed a cover of The Steve Miller Band song "The Joker."
