Welcome to the AES Eastern Region Blog

As the incoming VP of Eastern Region of US/Canada, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself to the members in the region. I will be using this new blog as a hub for Regional events and information.

There are 6 Pro Sections and over 30 Student Sections in this Region!! I encourage the Pro Sections to include students in their event activities. Students have proven to be helpful with setting up at events and assisting in promoting events with the additional Social Media streams. They are also the future of the AES.

Following the lead of the Latin American Region, I am working to coordinate a way for Sections to webcast special events to other Sections at their normal meeting venues. Sections would have the option to schedule their regular events around any scheduled webcasts if they so choose. This should increase the diversity of topics available for monthly meetings moving forward and make event planning a little easier.

There has been some discussion with members in Florida about the possibility of setting up a "Central Florida" Pro Section. I will be posting updates as progress is made.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any event ideas, questions or concerns.
