Kees Schouhamer Immink is a Fellow of the IEEE, AES, SMPTE, a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (KNAW), a member of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE), an honorary member of the Netherlands Electronics and Radio Society (NERG). He received 2017 IEEE Medal of Honor. He served the AES as its president in 2003.

AES Awards

In 1985, Kees A. Schouhamer Immink was presented with the AES Fellowship Award.

In 1992, Kees A. Schouhamer Immink was presented with the AES Silver Medal Award was presented with the AES Silver Medal Award for his pioneering work in coding techniques and his work on the design of the Compact Disc system, among other notable achievements that include research and development on the CDV and DCC systems, for which he holds over 30 separate patents.

In 1999, Kees A. Schouhamer Immink was presented with the AES Gold Medal Award for recent advances in consumer audio technology.
