Kenneth Rose eceived the Ph.D. degree in 1991 from the California Institute of Technology. He is professor of electrical and computer engineering at UC Santa Barbara. His main research activities are within information theory and signal processing, and also include audio and video coding, processing and networking. He is an IEEE Fellow and recipient of the 1990 W.R. Bennett Prize Paper Award (IEEE Communications Society), and the 2004 and the 2007 IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Awards.
