Sennheiser Electronic Corp. - Audio Software Development Intern

Posted On: 2021-4-7
Location: Zürich, Switzerland

Job Description:

As an international company with a 75-year innovation track record, Sennheiser is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of headphones, microphones, and wireless audio systems. The Switzerland-based AMBEO team is a small, agile, and highly inter-disciplinary innovation entity within Sennheiser with a passion for creating cutting-edge, immersive audio experiences with a focus on human perception. Our recent focus has been AMBEO Mobility, where we push the boundaries of immersive audio experiences in the automotive industry.

We are looking for suitable candidates for an Internship in Audio Software Development for a time period of (at least) 5 months, starting date is flexible.

Given the current worldwide pandemic situation, we have to assume a scenario where remote working is the norm. If possible, however, we consider physical presence (at least occasionally) in our Zürich offices highly beneficial - and even necessary for some project phases.

Possible tasks include:

  • Develop an improved filter-bank generator for spatial audio applications:
  • Analyze & improve existing algorithms, design & implement new software tools to integrate into our modular prototype and tuning environment.
  • Prototype and develop new automotive audio technologies: provide assistance in creating acoustic measurements, tunings and audio experiences in the car.
  • In addition, as a part of the AMBEO developer team, you will get insight into (and potentially contribute to) various areas that shape our daily life: audio algorithms, acoustic measurements, preparing and conceiving demo experiences, embedded software optimization and compliance aspects.

What we are looking for:

  • Highly self-motivated candidates with drive
  • A passion for audio and/or software development (ideally both)
  • Self-organized, able to work independently for some periods of time
  • Openness and willingness to learn
  • Ongoing or completed studies in engineering and/or audio technology or comparable industry experience
  • Some experience with modern C++ development (C++11, 14) and best practices
  • Experience with Audio/GUI frameworks (e.g. JUCE) and other languages (e.g. Python) is a plus
  • Good English language skills - German is not required

What we can offer you:

  • A highly motivated small team
  • Inter-disciplinary working environment and projects
  • Mentoring in a structured but creative and fun software development environment
  • Culture of openness: contribute your ideas
  • Flexible working hours
