We're looking for a Senior Research and Development Engineer with passion for audio and music to join our R&D team on a permanent basis.

Location: Maidstone, Kent, UK

Education:

• Bachelors, Masters graduate degree or Doctorate in an appropriate technical discipline such as Electro-Acoustics, Acoustical Engineering or Physics.
• 5 years relevant experience developing loudspeaker products

Key responsibilities:

• Development of loudspeaker systems, transducers and headphones.
• Research on related topics.

Must-haves:

• Experience designing loudspeaker or headphone drivers.
• Experience using FEA and non-linear modelling and analysis.
• Understanding of loudspeaker theory.
• Passionate about sound quality and skilled in critical listening.
• Methodical and scientific approach to any technical problem.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Some experience with Matlab, Python, C, C++ or other suitable technical programming language.
• CAD competence in 2D or 3D.

Extra points if you have:

• Knowledge of driver manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of advanced materials.
• Ability to recommend and source materials for audio transducers and enclosures.
• Knowledge of listening room acoustics.
• Experience in project management (MS Project, etc.)
• Experience using a digital task management tool such as Jira, Redmine, etc.
