Jayant grew up in what was called Bombay, in India. Since he was interested in audio and music from a very young age, he studied Electrical Engineering as well as Music Engineering.
Most of his career has been spent working on designing audio products and DSP algorithms. His first job out of graduate school involved designing the first digital mixing console for radio applications at Wheatstone.
Prior to joining Audio Precision as their CTO, Jayant worked at Motorola on their audio DSPs and at THX doing R&D on various innovative technologies.
Jayant works as a consultant to Audio Precision on special R&D topics, M&A activities, as well as representing them on committees and industry events.
In addition to working in the audio industry for 25+ years, Jayant has also been teaching for 15+ years at Syracuse University.
