Ben Sangbae Chon, Chief Science Officer at Gaudio Lab, received a Ph.D degrees in electrical engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea. As a senior/principal engineer at Samsung Electronics, he worked on next generation broadcasting standardization including ATSC, MPEG, and TTA. He was also responsible for designing Samsung's key product audio algorithms covering smartphones, soundbars, and home theater systems. Since 2012, Ben has been an active participant in the ISO/IEC MPEG standardization committee and has significantly contributed to the standardization of MPEG-H 3D Audio. From 2016, he leads Gaudio's research team of audio experts building spatial audio software tools that are forging the future of immersive and lifelike VR experiences.
