AES Los Angeles 2016 Presenter or Author

Michel Henein

Primary Affiliation: Visisonics - College Park, MD, USA

Michel (Mike) Henein has nearly 20 years of experience in both film and game audio. In 1997, he started his audio career as an assistant music editor working at the film music powerhouse Media Ventures. With an "ear" for the future, in 2002 he sought to enter into the new frontier of audio: video games. He shipped three AAA titles as a sound designer and sound supervisor in addition to leading the effort to build a world-class sound studio at THQ's Digital Studios Phoenix. Mike joined the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences as an audio instructor where he co-developed an industry-first curriculum designed to use Audiokinetic's Wwise as a teaching tool for students to learn about game audio workflow. Fueled with a strong belief in the power of 3D audio to revolutionize the audio experience for games, he spearheaded 3D audio product development and facilitated business partnerships with leading game technology companies. Mike recently joined Visisonics as VP of Product with a mission to develop robust 3D audio workflow solutions for VR, AR, and 360 video. He's also written articles on the subject of game audio technology for Mix, Develop, and Gamasutra.
