I founded Aphex Systems in 1975. During the 35 years I ran the company it introduced multiple new audio signal processing technologies which found applications in the recording, broadcasting and live sound industries. The common theme of the processing was to produce the desired results while maintaining transparency and naturalness. My personal interest in listener fatigue started when I was approached by the House Ear Institute to help promote its Hearing Is Priceless (HIP) campaign. Protection from exposure to high levels was only one element. The other part was why people sought those high levels. That is why this seminar is so important.
