Henney Oh received a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 1996, 1998 and 2002, respectively. Since 2015, he has been CEO at GAUDIO LAB and Chairman of Audio sub-group for UHDTV broadcasting standards in Korea. Before that, he has been CEO at GOOD DAY to INVENT, Inc., IP consulting firm since 2011 and Co-founder and research fellow at WILUS Inc. since 2012. He was a research professor at Yonsei University from 2010 to 2011. From 2002 to 2010, he worked for digital TV laboratory at LG Electronics, where he led multiple projects to develop TV audio technologies including ClearVoice which replaced other audio solutions at the end.
MPEG related activities:
So far, Henney has been actively participating in ISO/IEC MPEG standard committee by contributing to the standardization of MPEG Surround, SAOC, USAC and etc. In fact, Henney and his team won the ISO/IEC MPEG-H 3D audio binaural rendering technology in 2015.
