Lars Risbo

Lars has a life long passion for music and audio. He built loudspeakers together with his father at age 3 and played cello since age 10. His thesis works were devoted to obtaining deep insight into modulation techniques for oversampled data converters. This lead to his ground breaking work in class-D amplifiers and foundation of Toccata Technology (Tact Millennium - world's first fully digital amplifier). After the acquisition by Texas Instruments (2000) Lars drove the development of a long range of audio ICs and was elected TI Fellow in 2012. In 2015 he co-founded Purifi together with his long term friends Peter Lyngdorf and Bruno Putzeys.
Lars got his M.Sc.EE (1991) and Ph.D (1994) from The Technical University of Denmark and he holds approx. 35 audio patents.
