Abstract:
Technical Perspectives for Tomorrow’s Broadcasting
Perfect sound thanks to new recording techniques for improved ball sound from TV football matches, high-definition video transmissions via digital video broadcasting, and interaction using hybrid set-top-boxes for DVB and Internet: Munich’s IRT, the primary research institute for public-broadcasting organizations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, develops cutting-edge media and communication technologies. The institute finds innovative and real-world solutions which enhance the quality of radio, television, and new media. During the AES Technical Tour the IRT will give an overview about current activities and experts will lead you through the demonstrations microphone-tracking, high definition television, simulation of room acoustics, and web browser technologies for TV sets and set-top-boxes.
