ALAN PARSONS' NEXT PROJECT: 105TH AES CONVENTION KEYNOTE ADDRESS

NEW YORK: 105th AES Convention co-chairs David Robinson and Valerie Tyler have announced that recording engineer, producer, artist and label exec. Alan Parsons will present the convention keynote address. His address will serve as the centerpiece of the Opening Ceremonies for the event, taking place in San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center, September 26-29.

A longtime AES member, Alan Parsons began his career at Abbey Road Studios, with assistant engineering credits on The Beatles' classic "Let It Be" and "Abbey Road." His engineering credits include such hits as The Hollies "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother," and "The Air That I Breath." Parsons ushered in a new era in audio as the engineering mastermind behind Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon."

He subsequently focused his songwriting talents on the multi-platinum Alan Parsons Project, recording a series of award-winning albums including "Tales Of Mystery And Imagination" and "Eye In The Sky." Recipient of ten Grammy nominations for engineering and production, Parsons was instrumental in the creation of the European cable service Music Box, and went on to direct music-based television programs.

"Alan Parsons is a genuine music industry renaissance man with impeccable credentials," remarked AES executive director Roger Furness. "We are confident that he will be one of our most articulate and compelling keynote speakers."
