Abstract: The success of room equalizing depends on the solution of several different problems. In this paper focus is set on the central problem: Sensitivity to changes in the position of the sound source as well as the receiver. The position of the sound source and the receiver is crucial to the performance of a room equalizing system. Using computer simulations and physical measurements, the distribution of the low frequency sound field in different rooms is analyzed. Conclusions are made from the experiments, generalizing the influence of change in position of the sound source and the receiver.
