Abstract: A theoretical analysis of the performance of a ribbon-type velocity microphone has been carried out. This analysis is applied to two types of ribbon-type velocity microphones, namely to an ideal design and to a commercial design. Both microphones cover the audio frequency range with uniform response and directivity.
