The AES recognizes and honors those who have made outstanding contributions to the field of audio in engineering, technology, service, and the arts through its Awards Program.

In 1970, Marvin Camras was presented with the AES Honorary Membership Award for his discovery of high coercive acicular oxide for magnetic tapes and for his leadership in the development of magnetic sound for motion pictures, home, industry, and government.
