The Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (OIART) is North America’s longest-running immersion program for audio engineering and production. With a 5:1 student/teacher ratio, our full-time faculty and extensive adjunct faculty provide highly personalized technical and creative education. Students acquire genuine skills in just under one year’s time in seven extraordinary studios. They learn problem solving through signal flow in addition to how and why things work. The 1300+ hours of the program are all delivered in studio, about half of which are dedicated to hands-on lab time. Our graduates find employment opportunities in music recording and production, audio for film and TV, internet and game audio, and live sound. The school was established in 1983.
