The BBC is a public service broadcaster providing analog and digital broadcast services in the UK. The analog services comprise five national and several regional radio networks, a large number of local radio stations, and BBC World Service. The digital services carry the national radio and eight television networks including specialist networks such as parliamentary broadcasting, children’s broadcasts, and News 24. The BBC’s website is one of the most popular in the world. In addition to being a service provider and a source of quality programs, the BBC researches, designs, and develops technology across the whole broadcasting spectrum, including virtual production, open source compression technology, and Web tools as well as digital television and audio.
