Fei Yu

Fei Yu is an award-winning music producer, supervisor, and recording engineer for film and video games, known for her unique ability to navigate the inherent challenges that come with international creative collaboration. Yu’s work has garnered high praise from elite industry professionals in both China and the U.S., and she regularly works with some of the world’s most esteemed composers and artists including Andrea Bocelli, Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe, Matthew Margerson, Tyler Bates, Rupert Gregson-Williams ,etc.

 

A graduate of Beijing Film Academy in her native China, Yu was recruited by China Film Group Corporation where she spent three years working as a recording engineer. She later received her master’s degree from the internationally-renowned program in Sound Recording at Canada’s McGill University, where she became the first Chinese graduate. While at McGill she won two gold awards from the student recording competition of the Audio Engineering Society (AES), an international society devoted exclusively to audio technology. She was the first woman and the first Asian to become a two-time gold award recipient.

 

Yu is the founder and CEO of Dream Studios, which provides comprehensive, tailor-made music services for film, television, and video games. Her goal is to bring the talent and expertise of Western composers and artists to the emerging Chinese film market.
