SC-04-01 meeting report, San Francisco, 2010-11

Report of the SC-04-01 Working Group on Acoustics and Sound Source Modeling, of the SC-04 Subcommittee on Acoustics meeting, held in San Francisco, CA., USA., 2010-11-06

The meeting was convened by AESSC vice-chair Bruce C. Olson

The agenda and the report of the previous meeting, 2010-05-23, were accepted as written.

Open projects:

AES56-R: Review of AES56-2008, AES standard on acoustics - Sound source modeling - Loudspeaker polar radiation measurements

Intent: Review of Standard AES56-2008, Initiated: 2008, Intent Target: 2013
Goal: Status Report, Goal date: Continuing

Status: No action was requested or required.

Development projects:

AES-X081: Liaison with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) SC 43-2 WG25
Project scope: to formalize the working relationship between AESSC SC-04-02 and ISO SC 43-2 WG25.

Assigned to: SC-04-01, Initiated: 1999-04 Intent: Liaison, Target: Continuing Current goal: Status report, Goal date: Continuing

There was much discussion about whether this project should be re-initiated. R. Sauro is expected to request a new item of work related to AES-4id.

AES-X193: Sound source modeling - Array and Cluster polar radiation data prediction
Proposed scope: The standard will specify how the angular measurements of polar radiation data for arrays or cluster arrangements of loudspeakers shall be made and documented. This acquired data is suitable for application in room acoustic, electro-acoustic, and sound system predictions, and loudspeaker data sheets.

Assigned to: SC-04-01, Status: Draft or reassessment of this project ASAP Intent: Standard, Initiated: 2010-05-20, Target: 2012 Current goal: PTD, Goal date: 2011-05
