Report of the SC-03-06 Working Group on Digital Library and Archive Systems of the SC-03 Subcommittee on the Preservation and Restoration of Audio Recording meeting, held in Amsterdam, 2008-05-19

The meeting was convened by D. Ackerman, chair of SC-03-06.

The agenda and the report of the previous meeting held on 2007-10-06 were approved as written.

AES-X098B: Administrative and structural metadata for audio objects
Project scope: To collect information on all metadata issues pertaining to digital audio objects and all aspects of the digital documentation of digital audio objects. This scope includes field structures to describe and provide access to the audio content contained in digital files. It includes transfer, preservation and restoration information.

The draft document was edited by committee to finalize language for PCFC. Standards Manager to produce PWD draft for October 2009.

AES-X098C: Administrative metadata for audio objects - Process history schema
Project scope: To collect information on all metadata issues pertaining to digital audio objects and all aspects of the digital documentation of digital audio objects. This scope includes field structures to describe and provide access to the audio content contained in digital files. It includes transfer, preservation and restoration information.

The draft document was edited by committee to finalize language for PWD. Standards Manager to produce PWD draft for October 2009. Document currently lacks an abstract statement, foreword and scope statement. These will be provided by Chair in time for October 2009 meeting. It was also determined that this document may have dependencies on an XML version of AES-31-3 [XADL]

AES-X155. AES standard for audio metadata - Production recording metadata set (iXML)
Work is in progress. Will review document in Munich.
