I was looking at the draft standard and in Table 1 on PDF page 12, contact 6 for the MDI-X (right column) shouldn't that be "Audio data transmit -"?

Also, on page 12, there are three instances of the word "screen(ed)" which, while common, is foreign to a substantial portion of the community. Would it be possible to change those three instances to "screen(ed)/shield(ed)"?

Dear Mr Hess,

Regarding your comments on AES50:

in Table 1 on PDF page 12, contact 6 for the MDI-X (right column) shouldn't that be "Audio data transmit -"?

Yes, it should. We will fix it before publication.

Also, on page 12, there are three instances of the word "screen(ed)" which, while common, is foreign to a substantial portion of the community. Would it be possible to change those three instances to "screen(ed)/shield(ed)"?

AESSC follows IEC style, which uses European terms and spellings. However, in the three places to which you refer we will add "shield(ed)" in parentheses: for example, "The use of screened (shielded) twisted-pair (STP) cable is recommended."

Please reply by the end of the comment period if this reply is not acceptable to you. You may also ask us to consider your comments again for the next revision of the document. You may also appeal our decision to the Standards Secretariat.

Hello, John,

Thanks for the speedy reply. That certainly satisfies me and was all I asked.
