AES-X250 Project to specify measurement of maximum linear peak SPL using noise

AES-X250, a project to specify the measurement of maximum linear peak SPL using noise has bee started.  It will be developed in SC-04-03-A under the direction of chair Merlijn vanVeen.

The standard will specify a method for measuring the maximum linear peak SPL of a loudspeaker driver or system.  It will use a mathematically derived test signal that effectively emulates the dynamic characteristics of music as a function of frequency as well as its spectral content.

The SC-04-03-A task group will meet at the NY AES Convention to begin development of this standard.  All interested parties are invited to attend.  Interested parties may also join SC-04-03-A and participate remotely via teleconference and receive updates by email.
