Meeting Report of the SC-04-07 Working Group on Listening Tests of the SC-04 Subcommittee on Acoustics held in Barcelona, Spain, 2005-05-29
The meeting was convened by chairman D. Clark.
The agenda were approved.
AES20-R: Review of AES20-1996 (r2002): AES recommended practice for professional audio - Subjective evaluation of loudspeakers
No action was requested or required.
AES-X104: Speech Intelligibility
This project was not discussed as there was no representative of the task group, SC-04-07-A, present. There was no meeting of the TG at this convention.
AES-X057: Subjective Evaluation of Vehicle Sound Reproduction Systems.
Clark announced that discussion with the Standards Secretary had taken place in which the possibility of moving the work of AES-X057 to the Technical Committee for Automotive Audio was raised. This idea had been presented to the TC Chair, R. Stroud who had consulted other members of the TC and established a general agreement to take over the project.
Standards Secretary M. Yonge expressed the view that this transfer was appropriate in view of the fact that, while no standards document was likely to be forthcoming from the project, there was an ongoing need for more general discussions of the subject.
There being no objections from those present, the transfer of the Subjective Evaluation of Vehicle Sound Reproduction Systems was supported by the meeting. Yonge and Stroud will liaise to discuss any procedural details.
New Projects
No new projects were proposed
New Business
There was no new business
With no future business for SC-04-07, no meeting at the next Convention was scheduled.
