Call for Comment on withdrawal of AES33-1999, AES standard procedure for maintenance of AES audio connector database has been published.
The comment period has closed without objection
The chair of the working group has cited an evident lack of willingness of manufacturers and the user community to contribute to the connector database as it is currently configured. It is recognised that the lack of response will have been influenced by the deterrent complexity of the current scheme, however simplifying the scheme was felt by the working group to negate the potential benefit of having such a database.
Withdrawal of a document results in AESSC no longer supporting it with periodic reviews or updates of its associated database. The document will remain in the catalog and on the Web site for reference, but designated as withdrawn.
Address comments by E-mail to the secretariat at standards@aes.org or by mail to the AESSC Secretariat, Audio Engineering Society, 60 E 42nd St., New York NY 10165. E-mail is preferred. Only comments so addressed will be considered. Comments that suggest changes must include proposed wording. Comments must be restricted to this document only. Send comments to other documents separately.
This document will be approved by the AES after any adverse comment received within three months of the publication of this call on www.aes.org/standards
