Best Practices for Networked Audio in Live, Installed, & Studio Applications

Martin is a District Manager for Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems and an expert on networked audio. As audio systems become increasingly digital, eschewing all but the most essential analogue components, a practical understanding of the various available  networked audio transport protocols is essential. Martin will share with us his thoughts on the various options including possibilities such as EtherSound, Cobranet, Optocore, and Audinate's popular Dante. Student Led Listening Session

OU Students discussing mixes

OU Students discussing mixes

That's right, a listening session! This means that if you have done any mixes or have some audio (or audio + video) projects you're working on, you're welcome and encouraged to show them off and share with the group. This is not only for critical evaluation, but also to present your work as an example to help others grow as engineers. Most importantly, it's an opportunity to get together and talk about mixing and how to improve in a non-class environment.

You don't have to present, but we strongly suggest attending anyway as it's a great way to listen to everyone's work and gain valuable input.

All are welcome, and you can present any project (personal or school related) no matter the quality or production stage, so tell your friends!

What to bring?

  • 1) Your mix on any form of media that can be read by a Mac (CD included)
  • 2) An open attitude
