Summary

AES Vancouver Section meeting at Vancouver Film School, 1380 Burrard Street
November 14, 2011, 7:00 pm

Welcoming address and introductions by Gary Barclay.

Bryon Low of Annex Pro, accompanied by a slide presentation, reported on his attendance at the AES 131st Convention in New York with a description of Avid's new release of Pro Tools 10 and a visit to Alicia Keys' studio, Jungle City.

Shane Rees, Head of Sound Design for Visual Media at VFS, delivered the keynote presentation with slides.

A few trailers produced by students were screened.

Attendees were divided into two groups that were led on a tour of the school.

Q&As were interspersed throughout the meeting.

Two members of the AES Executive Committee were present: Gary Barclay and Maria Ho.

In total, Maria estimates that, including AES members, VFS staff and students, approximately 70 people were in attendance.

Cookies and beverages were provided by VFS.
