AES Section Meeting Reports
Atlanta - September 17, 2011

Summary
The 7th annual student workshop was held at turner studios. Several classes were held covering essential audio related topics. The class on microphone techniques and studio recording was taught by Jeff Brugger of Turner Studios. Students observed the tracking of several instruments including drums, electric guitar, electric bass, and electric violin. Critical Listening was instructed by Jim Anderson. Several listening examples were played for students. The class on mixing was taught by Ed Seay. This year the DAW class was taught by Booker Edwards of The Art Institute Of Atlanta. The DAW of choice was Logic Pro. Several laptops were donated for the day by Atlanta Pro Audio. Students were able to follow along individually as the class was instructed. A panel consisting of all the speakers was held at the conclusion of the workshop.
