Speaking of the Audio Mix
On June 28, the Mexico Section carried out a conference as part of the monthly conference program. This time, it was turn to electronics and audio engineer Mintel Alonso who also acts as vocal of the AES section.
His conference, an in depth presentation of one of the most important stages in the audio process, The Mix, was focused not only to the recording world, but also to the live, broadcast and PA areas.
He started covering the basics of any session, all the preparations the mixing engineer has to take care of and from there he covered all important stages: Human Hearing, Acoustics, Equipment Distribution, Setup and Alignment, Equipment Description and Basic Application, Transmission Losses, Poor Acoustics, etc.
Several audio examples in stereo and 5.1 surround were brought up and an extensive presentation in power point supported his talk all the time. He kept the audience attentive and motivated at all times but being such a wide theme to cover, unfortunately we ran out of time, even though we extended the wrap up time almost an hour. No time was left for Q&A, so we offer the attendees the possibility to ask Mr. Alonso through email any question or doubt they may have. [email protected]
Once again we thank the authorities of SGAE for letting us use their premises in Casa ARTeria.
