Summary

On Tuesday December 7th, roughly 30 NESCom students got on a bus and made a five-hour journey to Dedham, Massachusetts to attend the 2010 Parsons Audio Expo. Highlights of the event included: Bob Ludwig and Susan Rodger's presentation on the loudness wars and perceived loudness; Parnelli Award winner Robert Scovill's presentation on virtual sound check; Dave Moulton's lecture on harmonic distortion and noise; and Bob Heil's eccentric presentation on the history of live sound and the advancement of modern microphones.
Throughout the day students received fantastic insight and information about the audio industry from new products to in depth presentations. Undoubtedly, the long bus-ride was worth it!
