On November 30th, we celebrated this month's conference with an interesting subject, "AC Distribution and Power for Live Sound" imparted by José Antonio Martínez-Benita.
Jose Antonio's experience goes back to the mid '80s and has been involved in live sound since, either running a sound reinforcement company, installations of PA's or distributing specialized brands of professional audio equipment. The themes he discussed this time were the following: Basic Definition and Measurement Units and its explanation/ Coulomb, Watt, Joule, Volt, etc; How much Current is actually needed and Power Generators; Electrical Phases and how the Load should be Distributed; Wiring; Power Distribution Systems; Ground and Neutral. As you can see, he covered all important aspects of the electrical problems and complemented his talk with slides and with plenty of references to equipment he had put up for demonstration. Plenty of questions were answered with sufficient knowledge of the presenter. We are grateful to Jose Antonio and his staff for inviting us to their premises for this interesting presentation.
We had a good assistance of 37 members and 29 non members. Also, 10 registrations for student members were applied.
With this conference we closed the year's •Conference and Workshop Program• All geared up for a prosperous 2011. Happy Holidays for all!
