HIGH END MICROPHONES IN THE LIVE ENVIRONMENT
February 26th was the date of the second conference in 2010 for the Mexico Section. This time hosted at Lunario with a large attendance of 56 persons, 41 of them members.
Mr.Morten Stove, co-founder, sales and marketing director of DPA Microphones was responsible for the presentation, which covered the history of the make since its days with Bruel & Kjaer, the whole range of microphones and most important, the technology behind these fantastic microphones. After a good and thorough presentation, complemented with pictures and diagrams, covering microphone techniques as well, some Q&A was held with a good response from the audience which had plenty of doubts.
We had the world premier exhibition of the 4099 bass/ cello microphone and what a better way to demonstrate its capabilities and quality, than with a live performance. Kristin Korb, an incredible musician/ singer from the United States, performed for us some marvelous music. Her voice was captured with a 4011 microphone. The results were very good and our audience enjoyed quite a lot.
We are grateful to AMTEC, its director, Andres Martinez and Cesar Cruz for offering us this interesting and amusing presentation, Lunario for hosting our seminars, Musitech for advertising this and all of the AES Mexico activities in its prestigious Sound:Check magazine and Estudio 19 for lending ancillary equipment. Translation to Spanish language by Erika Benton.
