On Monday, April 27, the second meeting of our Department was made via videoconference. It consisted -in the first place- in doing a scheme of the achievements made in reference of the design and construction of our synthonized capacitive microphone.
We made clear that, in order to make the final step to start working properly with our prototype, we must made a new capsule with its own diaphragm and backplate correctly placed and aligned, not the third-party parts we´ve been using with our fully functional bootstrap, which polarizes the backplate. Due to the limitations of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, we decided to research to make a document with all the information regarding the construction of different capacitive capsules. This will allow to make all the tests/building activities when we finally can go back to our school, and be in constant feedback previously.
Also, we traded links, books and miscellaneous data referred to surface vibrations, Chladni patterns and stuff. This will allow us to be introduced to laplacians, a better higher-level approach to understand the dynamic and nodal behavior of the diaphragm.
To end, we agree to be reunited again in the last week of May to see how the proposed activities go.
