AES-SF established an annual "Studio Crawl and Mixer" several years ago for East Bay studios; this year it was centred in San Francisco. Small facilities in particular benefit from having an open-house with a guaranteed stream of visitors. Attendees can pick up raffle tickets at each location; prizes are drawn at the mixer held at the end of the day.
