Speaker Name: Leandro E. Rodríguez
Other business or activities at the meeting: Plug-in analysis for future presentation at AES Argentina EXPO in June
Meeting Location: Buenos Aires
After a brief summary of Ambisonics basics, specially focused on 1st order capabilities and the differences between FuMa (B-Format) and AmbiX, the faculty advisor introduced ATK for Reaper to the group of attendants. The topics were:
-Ways of encoding (plainwave, stereo, superstereo, omni, diffuser)
-Ways of transforming (Dominte, FocusPressPushZoom, Mirror, RotateTiltTumble)
-Ways of decoding (binaural, UHJ)
Then, prompted by a series of questions, Rodríguez presented again the AES 69 standard, especially in the terms of SBA (Scene Based Audio) and OBA (Object Based Audio), using the necessary examples of Ambisonics, Wave Field Synthesis, DTS:X and Dolby Atmos to explain the paradigms.
Finally, in order to satisfy the contents of a future presentation at AES Argentina Expo in Centro Cultural General San Martín in June, we decided to do an analysis of the current Ambisonics plug-ins available in the market: Waves, IEM, Blue Ripple Sound, ATK, Sparta and Facebook 360.
