Summary

On April 9th, 2019 at 8:00 PM, Ben Thompkins made his return to the Conservatory of
Recording Arts and Sciences. He began the meeting with a brief overview of his history within the audio industry, as well as his humble beginnings with Blue Microphones, a company that has been around for 25 years. He then went into specific detail about the marketing behind Blue's new "Ember" mic they have available. This microphone is special to the company specifically because of its $100 price range. Being that it falls into the CES market, also including stocking the product in high-end music stores, this is a big move for Blue Microphones as a company within the industry.

Next, Ben went into detail about the recent partnership with Logitech. Seeing as
how Blue Microphones was operating on private equity for an extended period of time, this is also a giant step in the right direction. With this partnership, they are looking to further their products within the gaming industry, as well as the headphone industry with their recent EMMY award, granted to the Mix-Fi Blue Headphones. On top of this expansion of the company, Blue is also trying to stay busy within the live sound world. They are achieving this, with their new microphones, made specifically with the singer and live sound engineer in mind. The mic features a more natural take on the live sound microphone, a built-in windscreen, more top end, and mid frequencies, as well as a protective shock absorbent ring. He ended the event with his excitement about the future of Ultimate Ears and where they plan to take the company.
